What is Ed Fund Clearance?

The Oakland Public Education Fund processes all volunteers for OUSD. Registration and clearance is required to volunteer in Oakland public schools There are three levels of clearance, unsupervised, supervised, and special event.

• Unsupervised – Receive an ID badge to indicate clearance to volunteer without being supervised by an OUSD employee. Registration, TB, and fingerprints required.*

• Supervised – Must be supervised by an OUSD employee. Registration and TB required.

• Special Event - Must be supervised by an OUSD employee.

  (Requirements: Registration.)

  *Unsupervised clearance is needed to chaperone on field trips and is one of our biggest needs at Sequoia.
